So, one of the joys of living in the south is that during seasonal transitions, you're going to get all the weather.  There is a well-worn trope about this, complete with myriad memes.

The challenge is that it makes getting dressed each morning a challenge.  I will tell you that I would always rather be too cold than too hot.  But I typically say that when I am too hot.  At the moment, I am too cold, and it feels like I am being stabbed with those little sword toothpicks all over my body.

And it's 60 and sunny out - but either there's no heat in the office, or they have the a/c on.  Or maybe I have been broken by weather whiplash.

Meanwhile, I am trying to build out my packing list for the cabin - I think we're going to be in good shape.  We know we have ample propane and firewood, should we need it.  The groceries part has me a little flustered, but I'll get there.

I was able to find a new insurance provider for the cabin, and great news - we're saving a LOT of money.  It pays to ask questions and get referrals.

We're also having our taxes done by a professional for the first time - the estate stuff is a piece of work.  The woman doing them looks like a little fossilized gnome, but she's been a CPA for 50 years, so who am I to judge.  I passed Algebra II by the skin of my teeth, and tapped out.  Well, I took statistics in college - got a solid C in that class and I was glad to get it.

My point is, I'm not the mathematician in our family.  I am good for picking out greeting cards and making painful phone calls.

Everyone is good for something.

Well, maybe not everyone, but most people.

We have started making arrangements to go see my nephew graduate from High School.  He hasn't selected a college yet, but I feel like he has a ton of great options.  He's going to look at a few places in Colorado over the weekend, then a school in Utah after that.  I believe he's going to go out of state (the state being California) and I'm kind of stoked for him. I played it very safe back in the day - and I regret nothing, but that's just me.  This kid is pretty fearless.  What's a few states between you and your family?

What's nuts is that I started this blog a month before he was born.  I don't know how much more I have left in me, but I've just re-upped my domain for three years, so I have at least that left, pragmatically.

And that's where I'll leave it for today.

Stay warm/cool as the weather dictates.

I'm pretty sure I'd always rather be too hot than too cold but I think I'm basically a lizard. My wife would rather be too cold than too hot and we manage because I can always put on extra layers. We have a lot of nights where she's sitting there in shorts and a t-shirt and I'm wearing socks, jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a hoodie. And one of the joys of going into the office in winter is I'm on the floor right above the parking garage and they didn't insulate properly when the building was built so my floor is always cold. I have a little space heater I sometimes use even when it's 80 degrees outside.
Congratulations to your nephew! Colorado is great but it'll be fun if he decides to go to Utah. I did a report on that state in 5th grade. Maybe you read The Great Brain books when you were young. He might not have but every person I've ever met from Utah knows them. They're not particularly Utah-specific, other than being set there, but they're fun books.
