After what felt like a year of snow, ice, and extremely cold conditions, we're back to what a normal winter in the Southeastern US should feel like - gray, mild, and rainy. I'll take it. Especially because Punxutawney Phil told us six more weeks of winter. But that's speculation. I mean, true enough, statistically, but whatever.
I once dated a guy who called February a cheaty little month because you still had to pay rent, power, water, cable, etc. for that 30 day supply, but you only get 28 days of it. Fair. Although, with enough 31 day months, it sort of works out. Sort of.
Anyway, we're already like 3/28 through the month, and look at us! Just cruising along. Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day are both ahead of us, and that's fun. We're doing some little thing at work - I need to go ahead and order/purchase my valentines. I don't know - I figured I'd go generic - we'll see.
We don't for a handful of reasons, get too fancy with Valentine's Day as a married couple. I'm good with that. Why limit loving gestures to a single day. I'll make a nice dinner, but I'd do that regardless.
Beyond that, not a lot happening. We went to see Amadeus at the symphony over the weekend - they screened the film and played along with the score. It was very pretty. The hall is really pretty. We had been for a wedding some years ago, but hearing the symphony was a first for us. The Nashville Symphony, that is - we both saw the Atlanta Symphony a handful of times in our younger years.

I have spent some time over the last few days getting things in order for the new year - setting up mail order prescriptions has been a big one. I need to call my previous employer and see about getting my tax documents from them. I need to do a lot of things, apparently.
I was supposed to have two events on Saturday - both ended up getting pushed out due to weather. I was bummed, but it's fine - to every thing there is a season. And this is our season.
We're watching the Super Bowl with friends - I'm excited because, hey, Super Bowl! Snacks! I'm easy. They are getting pizzas, we're bringing a fruit tray. I know, I know - this is 51. Also, it's not something my husband would automatically watch, and I'm in it to watch the adverts. I'm a simple woman. Plus, these are our friends who like games and fun. I'm for it!
I think what appeals most to me is the idea that I'm getting out and being social - it's good for my well-being. This is going to be a year where I try and do things that make me happy, healthy and whole.
Wish me luck!
