Get A Load Of This

Look, sometimes, something is just so dang funny and crazy, you want to share it with everyone.

For example:

This weekend, we went to the cabin for a work day - we ended up on a detail of clearing some trees away from a wooden bridge that needed more sunlight - the stuff we cut down went onto a burn pile that was also under our group's supervision.  It was excellent.  That evening, we made a decision to go down to Atlanta and check on my mother.

So, early Sunday morning I arrive to this:

My apologies if you are clown phobic.  I am not.  I laughed.  I laughed hard.  As I was walking in, I saw a couple - my mother's next door neighbors - leaving for, presumably, church, as they were dressed up.  They walked out of the clown's mouth and to their car.  It was amusing.

There are tons of other Halloween decorations in the place, and some of them are spooky.  I love it - but then, I love Halloween.

I have to wonder what these older folks think.  I mean, I assume they have all lived through worse actual scary things.

Anyway - this is the only reason I came on to post this morning.

Can't sleep.  Clown'll eat me.

I feel bad for people who are clown-phobic. I had a small part in a no-budget film that had its only screening at the Belcourt as a drunk, angry clown. It had nothing to do with the role but I ended up doing extensive research on clowns and their fascinating history. Also anyone who's clown-phobic misses out on Puddle's Pity Party. And that's a real shame.
