Scars and Stripes

Hey everybody!

It's July, which means that we have survived the first half of 2019.

It's worth a check in on some of my New Year Resolutions.  Namely, the one where I take my bags to the supermarket.

I've done better than last year, and honestly, I prefer it when I remember them.  I've also taken the store issued bags back for recycling when I forget my own bags.  So we'll call it a win.

This was my first non-committed weekend in quite awhile, and I enjoyed it immensely.  I gave blood, got an oil change, did a grocery run, and even hit up my friends at Trader Joe's.

And I took naps.  All hail the nap.

Piper got to play with her little pal from across the way.

We went to Santa Fe, Tennessee for some amazing Cajun food - it's a destination dining experience, but worth the drive.

We bought fireworks for the holiday weekend.

So, you know - a good mix of productive and relaxing.

That is how it should be.

So that's where that is.

I posted my new bulletin board at work today - it's all about fireworks.

Now, I also captioned my personal calendar:

I'm not sure I totally understand intersectionality.  I understand it as figuring out where you overlap with others and using that as a means of understanding them.

But I think it's pretty funny because the dog looks like, "Well, Actually..." in dog form.

I could use another nap, to be honest...

Holy moly, we ARE halfway through 2019. I've got a few things I need to do.

I have the nap thing down, though. If naps are an accomplishments, I can take a break from my year right now. And maybe, you know, nap.
