Nuevo y mejor

It's been a minute, hasn't it?

Well, the long weekend is nearly over, and I am no worse for the wear.  Maybe a few pounds heavier,  but we had a great time in the mountains.

I lichen, I love it, I want some more of it!

I survived the roads with the help of Dramamine and patience.  Mostly Dramamine.

The ticks were out en masse this year - Matt had them crawling on him any time he stepped into grass.  I found one on me, unattached, this morning on the ride home.  I left it in Ellijay.  A one-way trip off of my sneaker.

We got Piper back from the kennel, no worse for the wear.  She's tired.  She's happy to be home, and so am I.

The 4th of July sort of feels like a ,mid-summer milestone.  Next is Matt's birthday and our annual canoe trip, then comes our anniversary (Lucky 13), and then, everyone starts posting their back to school pics of the kids.  Then Labor Day, football season, Oktoberfest, my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  And then it starts all over again.

It's daunting to think of it.

I guess I should really just get through my week, first.

Nothing major on tap for the week - some training, a few calls.  Taking off on Thursday to help a friend out - which will also let me catch up around here as well.

I don't really have anything that interesting to share.  I hope that you enjoyed your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

I enjoyed mine.  It's what makes the summer bearable.

This is where one of the local bears clawed up a tree in front of our cabin.  It's a few feet taller than me...

Is it weird that ticks scare me more than bears? Clearly Matt is sweet which is why they were so attracted to him, and supposedly drinking a teaspoon of vinegar will keep them away.
I hope Piper enjoyed her vacation too.
