Well, I'm dealing with week two or three of this bizarre migrating joint pain. It moves from wrist to fingers to shoulder and forearm to ankles and legs. Bilateral. So, I don't know. Icy Hot and Advil seem to be effective at moving the pain from one location to the next. I have some outdoor work to do on Saturday, and I have some concerns about how that's going to play out. Painfully, would be my guess.
I'm looking forward to seeing some folks, though - so that's pretty sweet. And it's a long weekend, so that's even sweeter.
Today we had a lunch where the leaders of the company (or in our case, companies) served lunch to us. I think it's a nice gesture, but honestly, the management here are what I consider "working managers" - meaning that they are as deep in the trenches as everyone else. Deeper, truth be told. So, yes, I enjoyed lunch, but it's a little weird to have your CFO overseeing the brownies, and your boss offering you salad. The brownies were excellent, of course. No nasty walnuts to avoid. I also got to talk to some of the folks I know at the other subsidiary. It's hard to believe that I've been here long enough to know people for a decade. But there it is.
All the schools here are letting out for the summer, and that means Note To Self: Avoid Chick-Fil-A until September. Or maybe October. Or permanently. Specifically at lunch. The kids in our neighborhood are mostly good kids - rowdy, but not destructive. We got lucky. Hell, bachelorettes in town for party weekends wreak more havoc than the kids ever do. To say nothing of celebrities behaving badly.
I do love me some Nashville, though.
My sister's birthday is today. She turns a speed-limit age: 45. She's seventeen months older. I don't know if most people would guess that she's older, but she puts way more effort into appearance that I ever will. I remember Jim mentioning that he thought she was much older - but I think that was to flatter me. Which, hey - I'll take it.
Other than that, it's the same as it ever was.
I have a little grocery shopping on the way home, then it's smooth sailing. Hockey doesn't start back til Monday.
Be good. If I'm absent for a bit, fear not. I'll be back with tales to tell. Probably no later than Tuesday.
Peace.
