Alumpni Association

So, it's the time of year where, in theory, the nights are cooler, the leaves ar/re starting to change, and we're drifting into Fall.

In theory.   In reality, it's still hot, humid and miserable.

There's something about the fall that makes me feel like I should be back in school.  Adding to that feeling - I got a copy of Grady News from UGA in the mail.  The Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and Telecommunication Arts was the school within the university which conferred upon me my degree - an ABJ (Bachelor of Arts, Journalism).  Every so often, they'll send me something, and I'll get nostalgic for... something.  I can barely remember half of the classes I took, and the non-classroom memories are spotty as well.  I have a few gems that are tucked away forever, but honestly, I've forgotten plenty.

That said, in an effort to be a better alumn(a/i/ae/us), I got involved, somehow, with a UGA J School group on Facebook.  There, ppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Sorry, Piper wanted to get her two cents in.  Anyway, now I belong to the Alum Group here in Nashville, and we're having a reception for the dean of the J school next month.  I guess I'll go, look cute and network a little.

That's pretty much how it goes.  Showing up is 80% of it.

I am apparently talking in my sleep still.  Last night, I apparently said extremely clearly, "That, I can do."

Strange syntax aside, it's an optimistic thing to say, and I think that's a good thing.

Work is really going well - lots to stay busy with, and I am really enjoying the people I work with.  Good times.
