Life #4?

So I did something kind of foolish today, as you will when the world seems to be going crazy all at once.

I went to Walmart.  Because, Walmart.

Ok, to be fair, I started at Kohl's.  I have been dealing with the prospect of finding navy blue sandals, and damn if that's not a real pain in the ass.   I finally, and I do mean finally stumbled across some at Kohls - literally the last pair and miraculously, they were my size! And they were $20!  Freak yeah!!!

That said, the shoes were the only thing of interest in Kohl's. As sometimes happens, the place was just a hot mess, and the selection was pretty pitiful - or, at least  -  nothing there for me.

So, after that, I went to Walmart.  I had my reasons.  A few days ago, I found out that Walmart was selling these amazing masks. Basically, they're plush heads like a mascot would wear, and they're hilarious and $20.  I actually made fun of them on Facebook, but the more I thought about it... I wanted one.

I ordered one as a pick up at my Nashville location, and then they canceled the order because it was sold out.  Boooo!

So, I thought, well, why not check out the local place.  This means I'll have to get a second bag as a carry on to get everything home, but that's worth it.

Itchy?  Or Scratchy?  Probably both, but I'm going to Febreze it before I try it on.

Is that not the most effed up, gorgeous, hilarious fun thing ever?  Yes, yes it is. It looks like a live action Itchy and Scratchy snuff film and or porno was being shot in my hotel room.

And it's not that I'm a furry, or have big plans, but you have to admit, that thing is cool as hell.

It reminds me of a very weird movie I once watched called Frank.  The title character wears a papier mache full head mask for the majority of the movie.  The plot is sprawling, but it's an interesting film.

This purchase also reminds me of the Treat Yo Self episode of Parks and Recreation.  I didn't watch it religiously, but this episode is one that I both watched and loved.  The premise is that the characters played by Aziz Ansari and Retta have a ritual where once a year, they go out and treat themselves - to self care, merchandise... and they end up taking along Adam Scott who is depressed about something (probably about a snag in his relationship with Amy Poehler).  Anyway, Adam's character buys one splurge all day - a full on Batman costume.

But y'all know - I love Halloween, costumes and treating myself.  So.  I did.

Meow, y'all.  Me.  OW!

I think it's a panther.  My other options were bear, sloth, and tiger, but this is the one that spoke to me.  I will make plans...

Now, look - I know we've had some bad shit go down this past week.  It's hard to take all of the crap that's been thrown at us.  So, I'm not going to go down that rabbit hole.  Come here to read about anything but current events and I'll try to offer some respite for the reality weary.

Loveyoumeanit,
ae
