Deer and Antelope

Holy smokes, y'all!  I'm home!

Three weeks straight in Virginia.  It was good, I'd say about 83% good, and that's actually pretty damn solid for spending a lot of time with customers and management types.

Now I'm home for a bit, and that's a good thing.  It's nearly July, and this is yet another year going along at warp speed.

Today is home and family maintenance.  I need a new pedicure, Piper needs a bath and we all need groceries and laundry.  It's what Sundays are for, right?

We went to a craft beer festival yesterday and met up with some friends.  I don't go in for too much of the craft stuff - lots of porters, stouts, IPAs.  I like my beer very basic.  I'm just fine with Bud Light, Heineken, or if we're talking local microbrew, Yazoo Gerst.  It's not rocket science.  I stuck mostly with fruit beers and cider yesterday and I kept things pretty moderate.

Moderately overexposed.

After the festival, we walked a few blocks and had dinner at a place I have been wanting to try for ages - Chauhan Ale House - Indian fusion.  It was marvelous.  I had their "Meat and 3" - which was a curry chicken, okra, lentils and rice.  Marvelous.   I ate way, way too much. Good stuff though.

I have managed, somehow, to tweak my lower back/left hip.  I can't seem to get really comfortable, which blows.  But I'll figure it out, get some heat on or whatever.  Nothing too scary.

I need to get together somehow, and soon with my friend Jim.  Lots of good gossip to catch up on, you know.

I need a haircut.  I made an appointment for the next time I'm in Atlanta, but that's not any time soon.  In the meantime, I'm shedding and doing a lot of ponytails, pigtails, you  name it.  But come July, things will change - I can feel it!

So, that's kind of it.  Beer, curry and errands.  It's the same old, same old.  And I like it that way.

Good to be home, and good to know that even if I am going to be on the road, I think I will enjoy it and be good at it.

Boom, goes the dynamite!

So where do the ungulates with antlers/horns come in?

Man, I hate curry.

Here's a bit of fun Nashville history: Gerst was originally brewed here (hence the historic Gerst Haus, forced to move when the Titans built a new stadium). It then moved to Evansville, Indiana--and was my regular drink when I was in college there.
It had nothing to do with my going there. Really.
The Evansville brewery then dropped it and it was unavailable for years until Yazoo revived it.
