You say you want a resolution?

Well, it's the first day of 2015.  So far, so good.  Matt, Jim and I went downtown and kicked it at the Central Time Zone's New Year's Rockin' Eve broadcast site.  That's right, folks!  The advantage of being the current "It" City is that ABC decided to have us host part of their show.

I want Dick (Clark)!

And since I could, I got a room downtown with my Hilton points.  So we killed a fifth of Tito's up in the room and wandered back and forth between hotel and street party.  It was excellent.

Room with a view (of the Country Music Hall of Fame).

And the room was amazing. I slept great, just not quite enough - which brings me to my first resolution:

1. Sleep better.  I need to see about getting a machine so I can stop snoring.  But I'm also planning to turning the bedroom into more of a sanctuary.  The new pillows are just the start.  I'm also contemplating new sheets.  High thread count, lavender laundry detergent... why not?

2. Eat better.  This one is obvious, and will assist in the previous resolution.  I need to take care of this temple, which as of late has been desecrated.

There's a word in Mayan for brick shithouse, right?

3. More exercise.  Yes, yes, and yes.  Walking is a start - we'll crank it up even harder after that.

4. Say no.  Say no a lot.  Self-preservation will be key to a healthier happier life in 2015.  Nobody will protect me more aggressively than... me!

5. Either write or do stand-up or both.  Time to get creative again.  And put it out there for the masses.  Or, a fraction of the masses.

6. Go to the damn dentist and the eye doctor.  I've been avoiding both - mostly because I don't understand my insurance coverage, and again because I don't want bad news, which I feel is probable.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not suffering from meth mouth, but I brush too hard, I grind and I have issues.

Not unlike Fluffer, here.

7. Ask for help.  Whether it's a favor from a friend, joining Weight Watchers or finding a good shrink (and especially that last one), I need to know my limits and get assistance where it would benefit me.

8. Drink.  Drink heavily.  Of course, I mean water  I'm drinking that good hydration!

I think that's plenty for 2015.  I'll keep you posted, if you want to come along for the ride.
