I'll take December Potpourri for $200, Alex

So, that NaNoWriMo went well, didn't it?

Uhhh.

Anyway.

Happy December, y'all.

Yesterday was big.  BIG.  I had a repair guy come out at look at the fridge my parents gave us.  It was DOA.  I asked if the dump would take it and he said, "Leave it in your front yard with a sign on it - it'll be gone in an hour."

Still Life with White Trash

Come and Get It!

He was wrong; it was gone in 23 minutes.  Living on a major cut through street didn't hurt, and I put up a Curb Alert  on Craigslist at a friend's suggestion.  Don't worry, I took it down as soon as the fridge got taken.

With that chore done, I went to the mall and got frustrated as hell at the fucking blouses with badly placed, useless pockets and the shirts with elasticized hemlines.  REALLY?  Don't get me started on the overly bedazzled nightmare shirts.  With ethnic flair.

I made a few purchases, and came on home.

The stomach bug seems to be working its way out of the body.  I ate dinner last night at a honky tonk on Broadway... Robert's Western World.  We come for the rockabilly, we stay for the fried bologna sandwiches.  All kidding aside though... it was amazing.  It didn't stick with me for long (see previous sentence about stomach bug), but it was fun while it lasted.

Went out for my friend Natae's 40th Birthday last night.  After dinner at Robert's ($6 - beat that with a stick), we headed across the street to a piano bar.  That was fun.  I miss singing.

It's not a birthday without inflatable dinos.

I'm trying so hard not to look fat in this picture.  I look constipated.  And fat.

We had a good time.  I got home, weird stomach and all, and tried to get some shut eye.  I slept fitfully, and I know I dreamed some, because at one point, I woke myself up laughing.

This morning, I went to the grocery store to get some food in the house, then came home and took a nap.  Well, it was the ubernap, clocking in at four hours.

Matt and I went to Best Buy and looked around, then decided to get dinner at Cinco de Mayo.

Now for authenticidad, it doesn't get better than La Hacienda, but Cinco is really damn good, and more mainstream.  They're also halfway between the mall and home.

They had a new item on their menu - a chicken soup studded with chunks of avocado, fresh cilantro and served with lime wedges.  Lime makes chicken soup POP.  It was amazing.  And so far, it's treating me well.

And good thing - I lost six pounds with this bug.  I am wasting away to nothing.

And with that, time to do more laundry and get ready for the week.  I head to Columbus Wednesday AM.  Gotta pack, and make sure Lola and Matt are set for 36 hours without me.

Bless their fuzzy hearts.
